Those that believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ have been promised eternal life.  The scripture has many things to say concerning the reward of all believers and also gives brief glimpses into the world that is to come.  I believe that this facet of the Christian Faith has not been taught thoroughly.  Due to ignorance and misinformation regarding this life and the world to come, many believers desire to opt out of the present race, when experiencing the trials of life, to enter into what they believe to be simple eternal bliss.  NOTHING COULD BE MORE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!  If you are to be a follower of Christ, you must pay attention to His sayings.  Matthew 7:24 records the words of Jesus: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.  The life, words and deeds of Christ are not to be minimized at all!  Repeatedly in the gospels he makes “direct” mention of reward for both good and bad stewardship.  Post resurrection, He declares once more in Revelation 22:12, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
